Cal State Fullerton coach Dave Serrano received some bad news late Friday night, as Team USA informed the Titans skipper that star shortstop Christian Colon suffered a serious injury to his left leg.

Team USA played Canada on Friday, and apparently a Canadian player slid in very hard on Colon. After the slide, Colon had to be carted off the field with onlookers fearing the worst.

The prognosis on Colon is that he has a broken tibia and fibula in his left leg. He also will need a plate put in that leg and will have surgery upon return to California. Colon will stay with the team in British Columbia for the time being.

The Titans expect to have Colon out of commission for at least 2 or 3 months.

Colon was having an excellent summer for Team USA after also putting together an impressive sophomore campaign for the Titans.

This news just makes me sick! Christian Colon is so much more than a great baseball player. I pray for his full recovery.

very dirty slide! was out by 5 steps and went out of the baseline to take him out. worst part the kid who hit into the double play was jogging down the line.

The second-base umpire said it was a 100%25 clean slide.
