Scouting Report on Jimmy Gjere

On the Hoof: Has excellent height and overall body structure. His frame will easily hold another 30 to 40 pounds. Has similar size and build as Wisconsin offensive tackle Jake Bscherer at the same age.
Needs Improvement: He needs to learn how to pass protect because he does not get the opportunity to do it very much in high school. Gjere also needs to use his hockey mentality on the field and try to totally dominate and physically embarrass his opponents.
Most Impressive: He is very nimble on his feet and has one of the best frames of any lineman in the nation. Gjere is an all-around good athlete, as he also plays varsity hockey and baseball.
Conclusion: A definite redshirt as he learns all the intricacies of pass blocking, but I believe he has tremendous long-term potential because he is smart and very athletic for his size. Those are traits you cannot teach. His career may start off slow, but if he takes to football all year-round he could become a beast.
