Scouting Report on Brennan Clay

How we scouted: Film footage, In-person visits, Camp settingby Barry Every - 08/17/2009
  • SpeedBlue Chip
  • SizeDivision I Player
  • StrengthBlue Chip
  • AgilityBlue Chip
  • ElusivenessBlue Chip
On the Hoof: A very muscular and compact back that physically reminds me of Christine Michael of Texas A&M.
Needs Improvement: Proving that he can run between the tackles and is more than just a great pass-receiving back.
Most Impressive: Very high-effort kid that has tremendous change of direction and above-average speed. He will be extra dangerous because he is a stellar pass receiver and dangerous in space.
Conclusion: It is really going to be hard to keep this workout warrior off the field. Clay could be a candidate for punt returns or even slot receiver. If he proves durable enough to take the punishment at running back, he will see early playing time there. Clay is just too talented to keep on the bench, even as a freshman.
