Jacoby Brissett

On the Hoof: Brissett has that small forward/shooting guard body. His most prominent features are his long arms and hands that swallow the football.
Needs Improvement: His throwing motion changes slightly based on the type of throw. It should always be the same thus improving accuracy. Brissett needs to keep his elbow shoulder height. Being a two-sport star does not help his development as a quarterback, especially considering it is the most cerebral position on the field.
Most Impressive: He does a nice job with weight transfer, which gives his deeper passes the appropriate velocity. Brissett also has touch on the shorter balls and doesn’t try to blaze them into the hands of a running back just a few feet away.
Conclusion: The spread offense is allowing younger quarterbacks to have success at the next level. Depending on where he ends up and what offense his team runs may determine how early he plays.
