Scouting Report on Andrew Donnal

How we scouted: Film footage, In-person visits, Game setting, Campby Barry Every - 09/30/2009
  • SpeedDivision I Player
  • SizeBlue Chip
  • StrengthDivision I Player
  • AgilityBlue Chip
  • Foot QuicknessBlue Chip
On the Hoof: Donnal has very little bad weight, looks very athletic and is a legitimate 6 feet 6. His powerbase is well proportioned and filled out, but he can easily add more muscle mass in the upper body. Donnal looks physically like a slightly thinner Baker Steinkuhler of Nebraska.
Needs improvement: Has a tendency to play too high at the point of attack, as Donnal needs more knee bend in order to win the leverage battle. Donnal is a bit light in the pants and could use another 25 pounds of muscle mass, which should give him more pop off the ball.
Most impressive: He moves his feet well with the ability to get downfield and throw blocks. Donnal also has excellent height and long arms, which makes him an ideal candidate to become a left offensive tackle at the next level.
Conclusion: Should be a redshirt candidate as he physically matures and learns the complexities of college blitz pickup. There is any doubt he will become a mainstay on a college offensive line for three years, he is just too athletic and long not to have a major impact in college.
