Scouting Report on Barry Bostic

On the Hoof: Bostic is slight in build with room to grow but has legs that exude speed and athleticism. He is fairly thin-waisted, so he will likely never top 180 pounds as a college player. His body shape is similar to Georgia freshman Rantavious Wooten.
Needs Improvement: The only time he gets work at defensive back is during summer camps, so he needs a bunch of reps before he will be game-ready in college. Bostic needs to add some muscle mass to be an effective tackler. If he does play offense at the next level, he needs to not dance as much as he does in high school.
Most Impressive: Bostic is versatile enough to project as a slot receiver or defensive back. He is also a high-character kid that will not back down from a challenge.
Conclusion: Would likely require a redshirt year while he learns to play the defensive back position. He could be used on special teams either as a return man or on coverage teams. If Bostic can add the weight, he could become a ball-hawking corner that can turn a game around with a pick six.
