Jaylen Watkins

On the Hoof: Has good height for a corner at closer to 5 feet 11 with a slight build. He does have the frame to add some weight, but there is a limit to how big he can get.
Needs Improvement: Must improve strength in order to be effective in press coverage. Watkins also needs to work on staying lower in his backpedal to help with keeping his balance as he changes directions.
Most Impressive: He has excellent straight-line speed and can turn and run with almost anybody. He does a nice job breaking on the ball while in off-man coverage and has above-average ball skills.
Conclusion: As a corner, more than likely he will redshirt while learning the complexities of college football and gaining needed strength. Do not be surprised if Watkins ends up as a receiver; he is used to having the ball in his hands and making things happen.
