Ben Wells

Wells excels in zone coverage because his closing speed is outstanding, but he’s also adept at bump-and-run coverage. He could play cornerback or safety in college although his frame is better suited to the outside. Wells is very active when the ball is in the air, is a sure tackler and takes good angles in pursuit. He’s smooth in his backpedal and reads receivers well. He’s a physical corner who’s not afraid to take on blockers to make a play, but his strength is in his quick reaction time and his ability to close on the ball at top speed.
