Scouting Report on DeAndre Liggins

A multi-dimensional perimeter player, Liggins excels as a big point guard. He has an amazing feel for passing the ball and has the height and strength to make the pin point long pass. Combined with his craftiness, he has enough quickness to also create scores by getting by his man. His length allows him to defend multiple positions, and he is a strong rebounder. His shooting ability is the weakest part of the game, but it is improving.

Jerry Meyer serves as a national scout and recruiting analyst for Rivals.com. He played at Lipscomb University where be became college basketball's all-time career assist leader. Meyer earned Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a high school junior and senior. He has served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and also co-authored the book, "Basketball Skills and Drills."

DeAndre Liggins has traveled a long and windy road to obtain his collegiate eligibility. It's a process that is still working itself out as the calendar turns to late June. Despite a recent proliferation of rumors suggesting Liggins has indeed been deemed eligible to suit up for Kentucky during the 2008-09 season his prep school coach said on Monday that there has been no official change in his status.
