On the Hoof: May be a tad shorter than his listed 6 feet 5, but he has a lean upper body, wide powerbase and very athletic legs for an offensive lineman. His build is similar to Alabama’s Barrett Jones.
Needs Improvement: Needs to add some upper body strength and size while improving his lateral movement a bit.
Most Impressive: He is a natural hip and knee bender that is not afraid to take on all comers. Dieffenbach is also a very versatile lineman, because he could play either guard position or center.
Conclusion: Proved at the Penn State Nike Camp that he has a chance to play early because he is tough and does a nice job versus bigger and thicker interior linemen. If he can come in at about 290 pounds, he may have a chance to make the two-deep as a freshman. Dieffenbach should be considered a big center and thus a hot commodity as a player.
