Scouting Report on John Jenkins
by Jerry Meyer - 08/16/2007A prototypical high-major shooting guard, Jenkins shoots the ball with the best of them. He also compliments his deep shooting ability with a deceptive shot fake and strong two dribble game. Not the quickest player, Jenkins does use his length and intelligence to defend and rebound. Improving his strength and improving his ball handling are key areas where Jenkins can expand his game.
Jerry Meyer serves as a national scout and recruiting analyst for Rivals.com. He played at Lipscomb University where be became college basketball's all-time career assist leader. Meyer earned Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a high school junior and senior. He has served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and also co-authored the book, "Basketball Skills and Drills."
