Trip Thurman

On the Hoof: Fairly lean upper body with more room for physical development. Strong powerbase and thick legs make it hard to knock him off his pedestal. His body shape is reminiscent of 2009 LSU signee Carneal Ainsworth.
Needs Improvement: Moving his feet after contact and improving lateral quickness should improve his pass blocking ability. Thurman should spend less time on the ground and keep his feet while run blocking.
Most Impressive: He does a nice job with hand placement, gaining the advantage early while engaging defensive linemen. He also plays with good pad level for a big lineman which makes him a very proficient run blocker. Thurman's powerbase gives him excellent balance and strength.
Conclusion: Has the size to compete early, but must improve footwork while pass blocking. Look for him to redshirt while improving his lateral quickness and learning the playbook. Thurman is a hard worker that could become a very versatile lineman with the ability to play either guard position or possibly right offensive tackle.
