Damiere Byrd

On the Hoof: A very lean athlete with very little body fat. Byrd looks more like a corner or all-purpose back on the hoof because he is shorter and thinner than most receivers at the next level. His build is similar to Alabama speedster DeAndrew White, just shorter.
Needs Improvement: Must add strength and muscle mass in order to combat bigger, physical corners. Byrd could also improve his releases off the line of scrimmage by making better use of his hands and arms.
Most Impressive: He is clearly one of the fastest football players in the country and unlike most track stars, he has excellent ball skills. His ability to attack the ball with his hands away from his body is amazing. Byrd has the skill set to become an excellent kick returner.
Conclusion: He will more than likely play early in his career because of his speed and hands. I’m sure offensive coordinators around the country are already thinking about different ways to get him the ball.
